Gelli Plate Mono-Printing Workshop

Gelli Plate Mono-Printing Workshop sponsored by Lakeland Art League
Wednesday August 19, 2015
Ginny Stiles, instructor
Minocqua Town Hall (same building as Minocqua Library)

415 Menominee St, Minocqua, WI

9:30 am to 2:30 pm
Pre-Registration required by August 5. Cost: Non Members: $25

What’s a Gelli Plate?
The Gel Printing Plate looks and feels like gelatin, but is
durable, reusable and stores at room temperature. It's easy to clean and always ready for printing. Monoprinting on a Gelli plate is simple and fun. The gratification is immediate, and the prints are too cool!
It comes in a variety of sizes and shapes. You can find more about them on gelliarts.com website with

introductory videos.

Members of this class must provide their own gelli plate and brayer. I can get you the best price at dickblick.com. I highly recommend
an 8 x 10 plate but you can also have a lot of fun with the 6 x 6 plate.
3” brayers run about $10 (soft rubber preferred).
Contact Ginny at
ginny.stiles@gmail.com to register and for a full supply list.

Ready for Spring, Paint Brush in Hand

Our February meeting was held on February 26, 2015
at the meeting room at Marshfield Clinic, Weston, WI.

We had a vigorous discussion about our exhibits and future plans for our group. We want and need your input. We encourage present members, past members, and prospective members to attend our next meeting, March 26, to continue our quest for a group that best meets everyone's needs.

Wisconsin Visual Artists Guild is proud to announce that we are donating
$1,600 to Marshfield Clinic-Weston Center's Cancer Patient Care Fund
Thank you to all who have purchased art during the past year as 25% goes into this donation.

Our spring show, Cattails and Flowers, is open from March 4 - June 2, 2015
in the exhibit area,
Reaching New Heights Gallery
Marshfield Clinic, Weston WI.

Our featured program was a fun-filled presentation by Sharon Feathers.

"A Bag Full of Ideas for the Artist Studio"

What exactly is Sharon stirring up?
She unlocked her bag and out popped tool after tool.

Did we even know some of these were artist's tools?

We questioned, we learned, we laughed and we were enlightened.
If you weren't there, we missed you, and
you missed a wonderful, spirited presentation.
