July Meeting
In lieu of our regular monthly meeting ........ Please join our fellow member, Mark Mittlesteadt for a tour of The D.C. Everest School Forest in Mosinee
where his murals and dioramas can be seen.
Our next meeting will be at the clinic on Thursday August, 25th, 5pm to 8pm.
Our October fundraiser event with Marshfield Clinic-Weston Center will be discussed at that time.

Directions to DC Everest School Forest
These directions are from I-29 (or from Camp Phillips by the Marshfield Clinic (Weston)
Go SOUTH on CAMP PHILLIPS RD (CR-X S)
Turn LEFT onto PLEASANT DR. (“slight left” - right before Camp Phillips curves to right)
Take the 1st LEFT onto PINE RD.
Take the 1st RIGHT onto CREEK RD. (Creek Rd, will go up and down a hill)
Turn LEFT onto PYKE RD at bottom of hill (white house on left right at Pyke Rd.)
DC Everest School Forest –Twin Oaks Environmental Center driveway is on the left.
The driveway is a long gravel driveway. Take it all the way to the end where you will see a large lodge.
The entrance to the lodge is at the top of the deck. The Wild Wisconsin Exhibit is downstairs.

Craft Sale
Craft supply sale July 26 & 27 ( Mary Thompson's craft supplies)

We are having an arts and crafts supplies sale of all of Mary Thompson's supplies on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 26 and 27 from 3 to 7 PM. It will be held at her house in Wausau. The address is 2606 Gilbert Street.
Some of the items being sold are stamps, all types of paper and envelops, inks and ink pads, Kits, Encaustic art supplies, a kiln and lots of unpainted ceramics, flowers and flower arranging supplies and many other assorted supplies. At a later date the remaing art supplies will become part of a rummage sale with other collectibles and household items Some of these items will be available at the craft sale also and you are free to make offers.

Directions to meeting
Hey gang,
I still have not received a firm confirmation from Cindy Damrow the Director of the School Forest, but she did say she's love for us to have our meeting out there. It's on Thursday the 21st, correct?
Anyway, attached is a Word Document with directions and a map. I'd suggest that we have the "meeting" from 5-8 PM only because while it is still staying light out later, it does get pretty dark out at the School Forest, being so deep out in the woods and all. Anyone is free to hang around longer, but the earlier anyone can come out the better.
I'll be out there much earlier anyway.
I will get back to you on the confirmation, but it should be no problem.

Great LAkes Art Fair
Great Lakes Art Fair
The Great Lakes Art Fair is the fastest growing indoor art event in the Michigan. From its inception in Spring 2009 to the most recent event, attendance has more than doubled. This bi-annual fair offers fine artists in the region a reliable, regularly scheduled, �weather-free� marketplace to showcase their freshest and most beautiful work, and word is spreading rapidly that this is a destination event for artists and patrons alike.
Rhinelander School of the Arts
RHINELANDER - Looking to indulge your mind or expand your creativeness this summer?
For the past 47 years the School of the Arts program here in Rhinelander has been held at James Williams Middle School, but due to renovations at the school this year, the week long event will have a new host, Crescent Elementary School.
Beth Bloom, Facilities Manager for the program, says more than 200 people attend, some coming from all over the nation.
According to Bloom, just about any kind of art class you can think of will be offered. "Writing, art work, water color, acrylics, tai chi, mind, body, and spirit courses, chair caning, beading, quilting, to performing arts, acting."
She says with such a wide range of classes there's something out there for everybody, and if you're on the fence about learning something new there's no better time. "If you never thought that you had that ability or even had just a little inkling and thought, 'Gosh, I really want to try that! Oh, but I don't know if I should.' This is the perfect opportunity to do it."
The week long event starts on Monday, July 24th.

MINOCQUA - A new art show with a unique twist is touring the Northwoods.
"Drawing Water" opened Thursday at the Campanile Center for the Arts in Minocqua.
It features artwork from five area visual artists and a poet.
The artwork is paired with scientific facts from the area recorded at the Trout Lake Research Station.
Campanile Executive Director Woody Woodruff says the pairing of art and science works well together.
"That's the connection between the two," Woodruff said.
"A meeting of the minds between the asthetics and the statistics. It's a wonderful rendition of all the different things that you see around us here that reflect what art means to the artist. And we can all relate to that because that's why we live here."
There is no cost to attend, although the center is accepting donations.
The exhibit runs through Sunday.

Gina & Jamie have talked about doing a black & white show for a long time. They thought this would be a great opportunity showing at Boutique Revolution, given the always-present combination of black & white in the fashion (& art) world. Clean, classic, elegant & contrasting - but there's a wonderful grey area in between all the tints and shades.
Jamie Bilgo:
This black & white series is based on looking at black and white patterns found in fashion textiles, on animals in nature and within Japanese designs. In combining these aesthetic influences, I used various black & white materials including pen, acrylic, watercolor, feathers, leaves, India ink. The off-white paper for these drawings (sourced from test proofs of old intaglio prints) reminded me of an aged black and white photograph. www.jamiebilgo.com
Gina Glembin:
This Black and White portrait series is consists of pen, ink and watercolor. Each portrait is based on different looks found in 2011 fashion layouts. An emphasis is placed on the focal points of personal expression found in the use of accessories and hair styles.
