Pallet Knife Painting with Acrylics Workshop


The WISCONSIN VALLEY ART ASSOCIATION is hosting a Pallet Knife Painting with Acrylics Workshop with featured artist Coralee Erickson.  The class, which is limited to 10 participants, will be held Thursday, June 14, 10-5 at Janke Bookstore, downstairs.  Cost for WVAA members is $35.00.  Cost for non-members is $45.00.  Mail your registration/check to:  WVAA, P.O. Woodson Art Museum Offers Fall Woodcarving Workshop

Wausau, Wisconsin: Woodcarving and painting techniques are the focus of a fall workshop offered by the Woodson Art Museum and led by renowned carver Bob Guge. During Birds in Wood: Wildfowl Woodcarving Workshop, November 2 - 4, Guge shares how to master skills necessary to achieve his signature soft-textured surfaces resembling downy plumage.
      Guge, a northern Illinois woodcarver and veteran teacher, has amassed national awards and recognition throughout his forty-year career.

·         Five-time Best in World Champion, Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition, Ocean City, Maryland
·         Numerous Best of Show nationwide awards
Exhibitions:
·         Birds in Art exhibition, 1982 - 1996, Woodson Art Museum
·         American Bird Sculpture - Decoys to Decorative, 1987, National Museum of Natural History, Washington, DC
Guge work included in permanent collections at:

Workshop instruction includes:
  • Discussions about anatomy and pattern making
  • Using a cast model of a bird for reference
  • Roughing, smoothing, and texturing with power tools
  • Color mixing and painting with acrylics
      Workshop cost: $395. A nonrefundable deposit of $100 is due upon registration; $295 balance due by September 1. An early-bird discount registration rate of $355 is available; full payment is due by June 15.
      Workshop cost includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday lunches, snacks, beverages, cast for painting, and all instruction.
